Garden City, Kansas

Well? Even though I'm in Estes Park, Colorado and will write a HUGE post regarding this... :D

I wanted to write about this very cute little town in Kansas! Garden City. I wanted to stick around a bit more ... I went to the library - loved this statue of Mark Twain. I sat with him a bit. This was truly a very nice sculpture. His eyes!

Another scultpure .. Journey into Imagination... just stellar....

Very cute place...  The library had a book section to purchase used books ... hardbacks $2 and paperbacks $1... I go crazy with this sort of stuff... Had a delightful time looking through these books. There was a huge selection! I bought for the huge price of $2... "Ordinary Magic" Chogyam Trungpa ... edited by John Wellwood and "Gone For Good" by Harlan Coben... both seem very interesting. I pick books based on the Introduction and the first page or two .... I have the attention span of a gnat and I like for a book to 'grab' me...

They also had a zoo - I didn't go but drove around it and the little park... I don't like to really go to small zoos ... I'm afraid they'll have the animals in cages rather than open air type enclosures. I'm making a judgement but that's been my experience and I don't like to have those images in my head.

It was very pretty though.

  1. I sounds like you are having a wonderful time. The photos are just so interesting. I'm glad that you are having a good time. Looking forward to reading more.

You sound like me with books. I have so many that I'll never get to read because of this computer who steals most of my free time. Hugs, JB
