In the still of the night...

I woke up to the sound of someone breaking in this morning. I sat up in bed. It was about 4:30. I looked about for something I could defend myself with. There was hand sanitizer, moisturizer, my iPhone, my eye pillow, my vibrator (my back!!) and a crossword puzzle magazine on my night table.

As I was still struggling with waking up ... I decided maybe a coat hanger... I was too scared to move toward the closet. I just sat there looking for a light under the door type thing. I always close my bedroom door to keep the cats out BEeecause.. they demand I get up and feed them and will meow relentlessly until I do...

I stayed in a position of sitting and pondering my situation and listened and listened and --- THEN --- my door was being pushed open! ... a black paw came through the crack ... it was still dark but I recognize a paw when I see one....

Tried to put her out and shut the door! hah! sooo sleepy. Of course, I had to feed them FIRST. That kept them occupied while I tried to go back to sleep... right, at 5am in the morning. sigh ...

Sooooo... made coffee... ahhhh coffee... sweet eye opening coffee. Smells so good. Don't like to drink coffee at 5:30 in the morning... wanted to go back to sleep! But it is cold around here and the cats wanted nothing to do with going outside.

Honestly! I put up a room divider thing between the living room and the hallway to the bedrooms because I know how adept they are with their paws! .... Betty Boop -- the younger... jumped the divider... mind you it is 6 feet tall! There is an etagere next to the wall next to the room divider... I fixed THAT.... but then she found she can jump from the freakin couch! to the top of the divider which makes an awful racket!!!! scared the beejeebers outta me.

She doesn't even need anything to jump off... from the hallway side ! she just jumped the divider... did I mention it was 6' tall??? jeeeeeezus

So... now what... I took a nap this afternoon and put an envelope between the door and frame... made a tighter closing and put a basket of ivy up against the door!

... made no difference. I woke up with gold eyes encased in a black furry face meowing in m'face ... The room divider worked very well for quite some time. Why is she now so persistent? I guess it's the cold? what? the cold makes 'em hungrier?  I do turn the heat down in the front part of the house but I leave the little heater .... oh, who knows... cats have their agenda and world... one day they're this way and the next ... they're that way... whatever... they don't pay very well

So... on to a new something or other... The old cat, Diggity could care less about jumping over something--- he leaves it to Boop... he just lays beside the heater... Soooo... I've had cats all my life and I am smarter than your average cat.

I will figure out a way. I'll fashion a doorstop of some kind... too cold to go buy one... however, she'll probably figure out a way to manipulate it... I don't like a bunch of stuff in my bedroom ... I like it open and breezy ... so I'll have to find some sort of HEAVY door blocker thing... dammit

So watching TV and will be sleepy and groggy all damn day ... I like

GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY... I'm watching Anderson and there's this guy with a strange addiction of loving his freaking car! I just turned around and he's kissing the damn thing on his knees! ....

... he's emotionally and sexually attracted to his car???!!

man oh man...

Where was I... turning this off... seriously... don't we the people have enough to ponder and worry about without seeing programs airing very sad disturbing stuff? I suppose programs such as these may help someone struggling with similar problems... I dunno. Anderson is usually very watchable...

I need to get up and get outta here... but to do what? Need to go to Target to get some stuff. But I'd have to shave and dress and walk twelve steps to Homer then drive 4 minutes to Target ... park ... walk inside... grab a buggy ... and go spend some money. then come back home and put stuff up and I'll be wet.

OR I could go get gas. I'm a little under a quarter tank .... I don't like that. I like to fill up when it reaches half full... doesn't hurt my feelings so much when gas is as high as it is....

HAHaaa the Blue Man Group is coming here next week... they just did a promo ad and one of 'em was just hitting these swinging TV sets with his hips... I haven't a clue why that's funny... but it is... HAHAHhaaa

~~~~~~~~
What a day! I did bake a sweet potato and made cornbread. Cooked some beans. All very nice smells for a cold rainy me and the cats kinda day. Boop is in HER chair looking all innocent ...
I did go out and empty the garbage... coldern a well digger's butt. The cats still do not even want to discuss going outside. This means more litter box action. I love cats but I don't like their potty ... well, the emptying thereof.
Trying to find something that will not affect my zenness ;) to block my bedroom door. If I had a ... whatchacallit hook thing but then that's reeeal ugly ... I very seldom have to get up during the night but if I do? I will not remember I have put something that will hurt my foot in front of my door ...
oh freakin great! .... she has now learned to just open the room divider enough to go through.... I wish I had gotten a picture... she sauntered up to the divider, placed a paw at the end and moved it back. This is a five panel room divider.
Well... now... she's done it. We'll see who will win this deal... I'll chat with you all in the morning...  Diggity hasn't moved a whisker... laying beside the heat... but he's 15 years old... Boop is 3.
  1. You can't let the cat beat you, so you'll figure out something.
  2. I made a point of feeding my cats (I have them one at a time) once a day, and in the early evening. Neither of them ever tried to wake me up for food. I also never let them out so they don't wake me up for that either...so far so good. Of course, they DO sleep with me. But they don't wake me up.
    You don't want to wake me up.
  5. Do you feed canned or dry? I'm assuming canned or else you'd use a self feeder or a big bowl of food. Maybe if you tie her feet together before you go to bed?? Nah, don't do that, really. ;-)
    I had a cat that moved a wall...well, it wasn't secured down, but was a huge sheet of sheetrock & he moved it out of his way!
    What's the news on the RV front? Is the fiver up for sale? Have you found anything of interest yet?
  6. Julia! quit being sick! stop it. You taking any Vitamin C? or A? you work too much and get yourself run down… hope you had a restful day! ...
    Haaa.. Gypsy.. yes. I'm bigger and smarter! hah
    Murr and Cyn… I keep dry food out all the time and feed them a can in the morning and a can in the evening. I put a couple of plastic things under the door last night… it worked! so, we'll see. I betcha a dollar she'll figure out a way to move 'em back … damn cat
    Hahaa… I don't think I could tie her feet together if I tried! and even if I were to… she'd figure out a way to untie herself! and the 5vr and motorhome are very much in the picture. My current plans are to go up Hwy 1 in Homer… I really like traveling in Homer --- just don't want to live in him… Target date is early March…
    oh, yeah… Richard … I had stairs at the apartment before moving here to my house … they almost killed me… Diggity almost STILL kills me… gets right under my feet … drives me insane! glad you liked the clip… ;)
    Just a bit of 'cat' background… ;)
    I used to have indoor cats only when I lived in apartments. I had one cat for 17 years ... said I'd never get that attached ever again...
    I did, however! … and she had a tragic ending and well... that was about 6 years ago. Diggity was a stray and he became my son and husband's cat! ... We've had him 15 years. He and my son were really tight when he was growing up… we had our ol goofy dog Boogis and Diggity - my son's live toys… ;)
    Boop is a stray I took in a couple of years ago --- she is the strangest cat I have ever had. A sweet little solid black cat but the vet said she was over a year old when I coaxed her into my apartment. Don't know what had happened to her... but she is quite skittish… I've never had a skittish cat in my almost 69 years! I just let her be whoever she is… she loves to travel with me in Homer and will ride on the dashboard… hahaa… sooo cute but just not a lap furry hug kinda cat.
    At any rate... I'm not close to either of these cats... they are still cats and are always fun but I really don't want to get attached. I love them but in my old age... I have somehow developed allergies... never was allergic to anything!
    So... I went from someone who thought she would die from hairball to not wanting the cats on my bed or in my room. We talk and play during the day but night time? go to sleep.
    When I settle down and decide to quit gypsying about ... I hope to end up with a furry little pal again... nothing like it. But right now... I don't want to HAVE to have anything to worry about or care for. … even though I do… sigh
